1999 V6 Camaro, with 70K miles, great condition previously.
Some guy came into my lane so I swerved and he caught my left side and spun me around and into a curb which tore the right rear tire off..
I'm buying the car back from the insurance for hopefully under $1,000, how much do ya'll think I could get for it as is? And how much more if I fixed the axle so it's at least driveable?

Re: TOTALED! How much?
well your gonna need an entier rear end, you could probably pick up a still good used one out of a junk yard fro a couple hundred bucks. I'd get your back two wheels put on a balancer and see if they are bent and need replacing. And have your tires checked out as well. Your gonna need a door and left quarter pannel and rocker plannel is gonna have to be cut out and a new one rewelded back in. Your biggest problem is gonna be the part between the driver door and tire under the quater plannel. That part of the unibody and they only way I know to fix that is having it up a frame machine and have it pulled back out. For the door, rearend, quarter pannel, and rocker arm with you doing all the work yourself I'd say around 1300 plus thats not to mention what has to be done on a frame machine and not taking into account with an accident like that, it doesn't seem like much but you really wont' know how bad the damage is until you start pulling body pannels and see what happen under neath to the actual structure of the car. Granted nearly any car can be fixed after an accident you just have to ask are you willing to fork over all the money to get it fixed properly.
Re: TOTALED! How much?
I don't know...that is going to be costly to fix. I had a similar accident a few months ago where I had to replace the entire passenger side (front panel, door, rear quarter panel) which cost about 5k.
The rear quarter panel is going to be the killer...hopefully you can find a decent one at a scrap yard but even then it'll need to be welded on.
Good luck.

Re: TOTALED! How much?
I'm not looking to fix it, I have insurance for that. And the wreck wasn't my fault, what I'm wondering is how much I could sell the car for? Insurance said it's totaled so they gave me the KBB value of it already and will sell me back the car for about $800 so I'm thinking about buying it back and re-selling it but was curious as to how mcuh I might could get for it whole vs. parting it out.

Oh yeah, should still run perfect. Looks likle I could sell the t-tops, interior, hood, engine, transmission, front wheels, trunk lid, passenger door, front fenders/front end, taillights, brake lights, etc. I wonder how much I could get off of it. I don't have to buy it back of course but I will if I can make a decent profit.
Re: TOTALED! How much?
Id say part it out for sure. You would be suprised how much you can make if you take the time and effort to sell all the parts you can. Also that car isnt hurt to bad. I mean you have a whole interior, motor, tranny, whole front of the car, pretty much the whole back end, and it looks like the whole right side. I think you could make out like a bandit on that car.
Good Luck!
PS: where are you at I might be interested in some parts if your not to far away
