Question starting and accelertating probs with 99 3.8

Having probs with my friends 99 3.8. Its been hard starting for about 3-4 weeks now and a couple of days ago the accelertation became pretty violent. Ive been waiting for the computer to notice something, which it did yesterday. IT threw code 35, I think, which was misfire, number 5 cylinder. I checked the plug wire at the coil, it was kinda loose so i pushed it on. The wire was also on properly at the plug. The lighjt went away and it seemed to start alot easier. Ok, cut to this morning. Sheridan leaves her Apt. and calls me immediatly cuz her car took like 10-15 seconds to start, and is havng the same problems with accerlating. Is it the coil? The wire? or something totally unrelated? The SES light hasnt come back yet either.
