Starter question..

All of a sudden, my starter sounds like it is flopping all over the place. Car still starts as it always has, though. Is this a sign of it getting ready to die or could I possibly have a loose bolt or something?

Re: Starter question..

Reach in there and grab a hold of it. can you move it? Simple enough to tighten up if so. Although i've never seen a starter come loose without the tell tale grinding sound of the starter/flywheel teeth not connecting properly. Or the starter just spinning and spinning.

Re: Starter question..

Thanks. I heard no grinding, just flopping. It turned & engaged just fine.
