SLP CAI Filters
SLP CAI Filters
I have the SLP Cold AIr INduction, and i'm trying to clean the filters, i know there is a kit to clean them but I thought i would just soalk them in water fora while. The only probablem is getting them off the car. I opened the bottom under the bumper and i couldent unscrew the screws because they were too hard to get at. Is there an easier way to get the filters off?
i have the slp CAI, i had the same problem the first time i went to clean the filters. after you get them off to clean them and are going to put them back on, try to put them on from the bottom, its a tight fit but i found it to be easiest to use a rachet and socket. as far as cleaning them, i use the K&N oil, works perfect.
I usually just pull the whole thing out. Seems easier than reaching up, in, and around to get to those little hose clamps.
I clean mine every 10k miles or so since I live on a dirt road (reccomended ~50k) but I've heard that they filter (not flow) better when they're dirty, who knows.
If I ever wear out those dang filters, im gettin some that have a smaller diameter and not cone-shaped. That ought to help the fit a little.
