Re: Rod Bearings job

Well what engine is it for?
You will have to pull the engine out first of all.
Put the crank main cap on in the same position as you removed them same with the rods.
You should pull the heads and work on them while your at it, get new pistons maybe and at the least put new rings and hone the bores.
You will have to pull the crank out so do the main bearings too.
If you have a 2.8 3.1 or 3.4 I can tell you how to modify the main bearings so you get more oil to the rod bearings.
It goes on and on, it's a lot to do.
You will need an engine rebuild guide more or less.
It won't be simple you will need a lot of tools parts and seals.

You could get a rebuild kit from a place like napa and geta cam from summit or a crane dealer.
I don't have a main cam pic.

Re: Rod Bearings job

You have to thake the engine to a machine shop and have the cylinder s bored. But you only realy need to bore them if there damage or your doing a preformance build up. If there not tore up you can just hone them and put them back to gether,

Re: Rod Bearings job

No, he's saying you'd have to bore the cylinders out by either .030 or .040 inches. You can't just stuff the oversized pistons in, they won't fit.
