Reading codes?

I saw someone on another thread mention that they could tell by a code on their door, what kind of gears their car had. How exactly can I do this. I am assuming I have 3.08's but would like to know for sure....

Re: Reading codes?

Ok so I did a little research & found my RPO codes & even found a list of what they mean. Problem is, I cannot find my gears. **Dumb question warning** My gears are listed as "Ratio, Final Drive" correct?

On the good side, I found out I do have posi-traction.

Re: Reading codes?

Sorry for the multiple threads....

Searched the forums here (which I know I should have done in the first place) & found out that I have 3.42 gears with posi. This makes me happy. This also explains why I, without meaning to, laid a patch of rubber across a major highway yesterday as I was trying to shoot across it in a hurry. I was rather surprised, but I guess I should not have been. On top of that, I still get a legitimate 30mpg's on road trips!! This car just keeps getting better!!

Thumbs up Re: Reading codes?

Apparently, I am just talking to myself, which is fine!!

Anyways, I found out what the Y87 code is. I have that too!! WOOT!!
I have driven the Camaro to work everyday this week (60mile round trip) because the weather has been beautiful!!! I had to take my DD (2005 Honda Civic SVP....115hp of blandness) to a restaurant after I got home tonight...Man, I really am going to miss the Camaro, when I have to put it away for the winter!!
