Is the 3.4 this much of a dog ?

Ive been slowly trying to get this 95 camaro m5 back road legal after it was wrecked in the rear quarter panel to sell it and make a quick buck.

I had replaced the plugs and wires, all the fluids you know... the basic tune up stuff except fuel filter. The plugs were autolites I believe and the wires are accel "built your set" wires...

Maybe its just because I'm used to the Lt1, but this thing doesn't seem to have any kick what so ever. Its not missing or anything and it has a new cat, but even going up hills it seems asthmatic and I have to keep down shifting till I'm about 3k rpms to make it up without losing speed.

I had a guy come test drive it to buy and even he said it doesnt seem to have any kick to it and was comparing it to his van which "has *****"
He was suggesting it was something vacuum related but I sprayed carb cleaner around and couldnt find anything.

Change the fuel filter, add a bottle of your preference of injector cleaner, try AC Rapidfire plugs and some basic autozone/orielly/whatever parts store wires, air filter, pcv valve. Unless its a mechanical issue/ bad gasket somewhere, that should get it in good shape. My 3.4 has about 170,000 on it and screams for a 6. No problems melting tires, no problem hitting the speed limiter. They like rapidfire plugs. Is the check engine light on?

One reason the 3.4 doesnt get much power is because it is designed badly, it doesnt get much airflow throughout the engine so it cant get much power

no no engine light, never have to add any coolant and oil is always clean. oil pressure is around 70 cold and 30 warm idle. it just seems like it cant breathe or something, I dont even think it can do a burnout.

I replaced the map sensor, tps and Idle air control...I was at a junkyard and found the new sensors and thought I might as well try them...Im thinking the one that fixed it was the map maybe the tps too
