I think all that stuff will put u back at the actual advertised stock hp, 160 at the flywheel, I still say GM lies the stock 3.4 rating.......peace

You really want to know your best bet? Sell your 3.4L for the 4000 its worth and buy a 3rd gen or 2nd gen Z28, then you will be in the high 14's stock and its cheap to mod, really cheap with the 2nd gen new carb and intake your in business,

Of course your milage will suffer!

I have looked into this for years, I gave up trying to find a way to make my car fast its slow, it almost beats the rate my hair grows!

Your other option is to n2o it for about 600 on the cheap side and you will blow your motor but at least it will have moved the first 3 runs!

180 Watt Kenwood head unit
jbl's all around
3 10" Jensen 375 watt subs with a 250 watt amp and a 500 watt amp(I know its cheap but I really don't want to kill any little old ladies)

how is there gonna be more rwhp then there is flywheel hp?? it won't be 180, it will be less then 160...you loose power through the driveshaft and rearend, b/c it takes power to turn them.

Mine calculated out to be about 100rwhp, from the track times, when virtually bone-stock.

Looks like a Z28, handles like a SS, accelarates like a VW

Put al the stuff on then run it at the track, you can sort of calculate it with that.

Though those are a little off says my car has about 173 rwhp, which I find hard to believe that would put me near 200 at the flywheel comparing my car to other 3.8Ls.

Or put it on a dyno.

Jsut remeber ricer hp calculations do not work. 160+20 for K&N+25 for headers+15 for underdrive pulleys=220 hp

ok mustang im back and with a new time of 15.694! just kidding.

Ryan- i beleive with some practice and good launches you will be in the 15's with those mods. and what ever you do dont buy a 3rd gen, there aftermarket sucks and its really hard to find one that actually will run low 15's(never seen a stock 3rd gen run 14's).

camaros4life- if this wasnt answered, he did a Z-28 convertsion if my memory serves me right, i've been gone for awhile. he got a whole new rear axle from a Z(disc brakes, LSD).

i also think GM lied about the 3.4's power. although it could have been that they ran the engine dyno with out accessaries.
