Pros and Cons of EGR Block off

Re: Pros and Cons of EGR Block off
i really dont think it does that much.... at certain times (not all the time) the engine puts some exhaust into the intake to balance the gases, its just a small amount so i dont think it'd make a big difference...
I know that is really hard to understand, I cant really explain but i tried.

Re: Pros and Cons of EGR Block off
This is a short article about the EGR that defines it. http://autorepair.about.com/od/gener...l/bldef165.htm
I just had a problem code P1406 which happens to be the EGR or circuitry for the EGR. I'm guessing somethings broken and the EGR doesn't work. I have had NO problems. It actually seems to run better.

not sure about this but if you put a block off plate on the egr won't it set off a check engine light? My theory behind that is that the computer will detect a lack of flow through the egr and set the egr low flow code. Not sure if it will actually do that just a theory.

theres really no pros or cons to blcoking off teh egr
theres really no gain its used for emissions purposes only
some say that teh engine temp may be slightly higher when removing it , but im not sure
