Posi in '96 3800?

Hey guys, what code am I looking for in the VIN of my car to tell if it has a posi rear end or not? If this 3800 I got has a posi, I'm going to swap the chunk with the open diff. in my '67. Thanks!

I don't think the VIN # will help you, check your RPO codes & this site.

That sight isn't very accurate....its says that "1996 was the first Camaro model year for the 4th gen, where the change from the long time sunk-in light pockets to flat headlights.

1996 was the first Camaro model year for the 4th gen, where the front of the nose was no longer pointed. The front was now cut off and rounded off."

That happened in 1998 not 1996. Although the RPO codes are probably right, I bet the guys who imputed the data just entered it wrong. www.firebirdv6.com also has a tech section that tells you what the RPO codes mean.
