P0336

Was driving home two weeks ago (97 camaro rs auto) and felt a stumble didnt pay it any mind. Then the check engine light came on with P0336 Crankshaft Postion Sensor Performance . Had the code removed to follow the test procedures and nothing. It ran fine for a while. Now whenever it wants to it will act like its about to cut off no matter if i am moving or sitting at a light but there is no more check engine light and my gas mileage sucks . I think this ckp is still messed up i think. i check the grounds and everything and all looks ok. The last thing is crankshaft end play might be the cause. I dont know what else to look for. Any suggestions??????????

How many miles do you have on the car.. I'd doubt that your problem is the actual crankshaft unless you have 10 million miles on the car... most likely that sensor is either bad or a problem with the wiring to the sensor

I have 186,000. I was going to order a new sensor, but didn't know if i needed a new reluctor ring or who to get to re-learn without killing the pocket book. I will check the reference voltage tomorrow and post back. Thanks
