P0133, P0141, P0147, P0300

(wasn't getting responses in the computer forum, so I posted here)

My car had been running pretty crappy, hesitation in higher RPMs, so I took it to discount and had em run a code scanner on my PCM, getting these codes:

P0133
P0141
P0147

Which are all oxygen sensor issues; I've pretty much determined what the P0133 and P0141 codes mean, and which sensors they reference, but I can't find P0147 in my Haynes manual. It is a 96 3.8L. I also I was told that there were 4 sensors, 2 upstream and 2 heated downstream, but the Haynes manual only talks about 3 - can anyone clear this up?

Edit:
Also getting P0300 which is engine misfire, could this be being caused by the bad sensors or is it unrelated? Spark plugs are pretty much brand new. Could it be timing? Car does have close to 100k.

P0147- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 3).

3 sensors, 2 upstream and 1 downstream.

Did you get new plugs AND wires?

P0133 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) slow response Bank 1 Sensor 1

I would be starting there. Thats gonna be a problem is that sensor is bad. sounds like it's faulty or contamintated. Wen it responds slowly it will not give correct feed back to the computer.

Wires seemed alright, so I just replaced the plugs. Think I should get new wires? So is the timing theory not a possibility?

I just realized it's not a specific cylinder misfiring, so it's probably not your wires/ignition related. If someone asked me to take a guess at the cause...

I'd say F*** YOU...

then if I was asked again I'd guess vacuum leak.

Yeah, my check engine light is on. I just assumed that was because of the O2 sensors malfunctioning.

I'm having the same type of problem with my 2k1 V6. Let me know if you have solved the O2 Sensor problem and how you did it. The only thing's I've done is replace the 2 Sensors in the front and put a Caspers Simulator in the back and that hasn't worked. I want to get rid of my SES light as soon as possible.

Re: P0133, P0141, P0147, P0300

well i guess im going to get off my *** tomorrow and start trying to narrow it down, see what the spark plugs look like...if they're all messed up, then its distributor/fuel prob...if only one or a few then its the plug or the wires...and i bought this thing to test the timing, so ill do that too...how do i test for a vacuum leak? anyway, couple of other guys i know said the misfire, thats being caused by whatever else, could be whats making the o2 sensors bug out...pabz, is your engine missing as well or is it just the o2 sensors thing?
