my car is leaking dexcool. i get it checked out and i need a lower intake gasket and both valve cover gaskets are wet. wtf?!?! anyone else have these problems on a low mileage car? what would cause these problems? i know that dexcool probably has something to do with it. ive heard it wears everything out quicker esp on 2.2l engines' head gaskets.

 

That really sucks! No warranty i presume? I'm not sure what could cause that, but here's a TTT for ya.

I am driving in my girl's car and (2.2L Cavaleir) coolatn was down a little and oil light came on yesterday....

Check the PCV system. The valve and the up/downstream, also. Make sure nothing is clogged and the valve is not bad...when you remove the valve, it should click when it's shaken. Normally they aren't what goes bad, but the manifold to valve side apparently gets clogged on the 3800 series motor (according to quite a few close friends who are ASE certified and work on them in their shops). Check that, too. That's apparently why mine was leaking at the manifold and blew a rear main seal - and the dealership never fixed that, just the ultra-expensive parts. My car no longer leaks.

yea i have a used car lot warranty and they havent determined if they will fix it. they better,,,its $700 worth of ****.
