well I am trying to pin point where my Antifreeze is going, so I decided to drain a little oil from the pan.. Water sits on bottom, oil floats right.. well I drained about 1/2 cup and it looks like liquid chocolate.

So there is NO Light Tan Moca color to it, but it also doesnt look like Natural oil. Now I havent done an oil change I know I know, since I have bought it, However, it literally looks like Choco syrup. (forgive the spelling its late).

However, There is a slight Gasoline smell to it.... Now being a Petro tech from the army, I have never ran into this before.

How would the oil smell like fuel??? I am also thinking that if I Do have some fuel getting into my oil, it would explain the color of it... it looks like oil when a swirl it around in the cup, but its not clear. It isnt black. its a very dark brown color, non transparent and smells slightly like gasoline.

Any suggestions?
And my antifreeze is still going somewhere...

Oil can smell like fuel if the car is running way rich (which can happen on any car, just more commonly a carb). on an Fuel Injected one I would guess either to much line preassure to the injectors or maybe one or two of them leaking fuel into the cylinders after you stop it. Unless it has a horrid tune.

Not sure if that is right, but thats the first thing that came to mine (I have had oil smell like gas as well... ended up that it was set waaaaaay to rich.)

Note... change your oil.. gas and oil mixed do not play nice with bearings

so is there a way that I can tone the RICH down??? I think I am throwing a code as well... The guy at Autozone told me that I needed a new fuel cap.. but that never fixed the code.. So I purchased a code reader, and deleted them... it came back... huh..

Only way to stop a factor of to much fuel is one of three things i suppose.. First find out what is actually causing it. (I would check the FPR to see if it is leaking or bad (a Fuel Preassure gauge would be needed) Then it would be to check to see if any of the injectors are leaking... not sure how to do that. hopefully someone will chime in.

I would bet it is one of those two things causing the issue. Oh.. and check the O2's the code it is throwing may be an o2 sensor related code.. if it is gone crazy or not working it could cause the car to flood up as well.

I do have an O2 code... But I think we packed her down to the head gaskets and the upper lower intake gaskets, because the oil hasnt been changed in forever, (Done lastnight) the antifreeze is missing, but didnt notice in oil, course it wasnt a sludge, just a lil thick in the oil... and a nice white steam looking cloud coming out of the exhaust today... and it was bout 45 degrees. so yeah.. Those are my options.. So yeah me!

I don't know how to do it, but if you have an o2 code test o2 sensor first. follow the codes don't just through parts at it that will get frustrating fast. here is a list of codes for gm obd2.
