not sure what next?
not sure what next?
I posted here when we changed the fuel pump on my 94 camaro. We then had changed crank sensor, next was the ignition module. That finally got the car running. We are now down to the block on the engine. The last mechanic that at was looking at it said Sell it..took the ignition module off and said..sell it, and get your $'s out of it. Well luckily hubby knows I would really enjoy being able to drive this car adn another friend said..we can fix it. See the last mechanic said after all the above that we should sell it because the intake gasket was bad.
The oil is a nice "chocolate milk" color. So next hubby and friend (who also is a mechanic) tore the engine down to change the intake gasket. It has no visable signs of issues..so next was to check the head gasket's. No visable signs of damage there either. So we are going to have the heads checked for cracks. Then what? What would you suggest doing if there is no damage there? Any thoughts? The engine is a 3.4 with about 130,000 on it. It seems to run strong when it runs. The car has not smoked. Not sure if I evem should post all this on this particular area of the message boards, but was here before with the issue of the fuel and not running, so thought I would update.

A small update. We took the heads to Napa today to have them magna-flexed, if I spelt that right. They are checking for cracks. We found out that at least one of them is an after factory head. Also the guys there looked at the gaskets and found two possible spots that they thought the coolant could have gotten to the oil. We will not replace the block, or work on the block. Just to much invasive, and since we are getting help from friends out of kindness. I can't really expect us to go much further. So still not sure what to think or what to do next.
oh and thank you for moving it here.
Hoping that if anyone has experience this, and has anything to share they will. Thanks.
