need some quick help regarding struts

Alright I ordered some Eibach lowering springs to put on my 3.4, just to get it looking decent with the 18" z06 rims. I put the back ones on myself, but took it to a local place to put the front ones on. They just called me and said the strut is completely rusted to the strut mount, and its gonna be like 800 bucks for their struts and mounts. Or I can buy the struts and mounts myself and let them put them on for a slightly larger install fee.

So what are your recomendations? Do any brick & mortar stores carry struts/mounts that will do that are a reasonable price? I don't really have time to order some online, but I need some recomendations as to what type I should get. I'm mainly looking for low price, its only a v6 so I dont care about performance.

Its just that I'm moving in exactly 1 week so I don't have a lot of time, any ideas?

Check your messages. I PM'd you the place where I got my Bilsteins cheap...I received them to my door two days after I ordered them.

You'll probably have to get the mounts from a GM Parts store...I'll also PM you a good guy to order from.

I'd recommend not going a cheap route...your springs will eat any cheap parts thrown at them.

I just did this last week. With an impact wrench and a little patience, there is no reason you can't get the old nuts off. The mounts can be had for $40.99 each at Autozone. Advance has them for $54.99, and KYB's for $59.99. But there are other parts in there you need as well. The top retainer is $5.99 at advance, and 12.99 at AutoZone. Then there is the lower spring mount, and the "sheath" that I did not price.

The thing of it is, you really don't want stock shocks with lowering springs. You will be better off buying some good aftermarket shocks now, instead of killing the stock ones within the next year. Either way, $800 is insane. Do not pay that amount, it's not worth it!
