need everybodys opinion. plz

been thinking a lot about this. I just bought a 95 3.8 (08/29/2002). it is in great condition, 75.000 Mi. I bought some yokohamas yk420 245/50/16 from discount tire ($125 ea 500 mi on them so far) and a sony CDX-MP30 head unit from circuit city.

and well this is the deal.

Should I sell the car. they sell around $7000 round here plus $800 bucks I've invested which I am not gonna add to the price.

So lets say I get $7000 for the car, plus so money I've been saving. lets say I will have around $7700. I live in El Paso TX. border with mexico. I can get a 95 Z28 with 150,000 Mi, for $4500, and I'm sure it can be lowered to $4200 or $4000. that way I will have like $3000, and the question is...

whit that much money, can I get the drivetrain overhaul? does anyone has an idea of how much an engine overhaul is gonna cost? so what shoul I do? do like this or keep my 95 3.8? so what do u think.. TTT?

every reply is appreciated. thanks

Hector

First of all, $7K for a 95 V6 is way too much. If you can get it, great. Second, don't buy a car with 150K miles on it. You have no idea how many things can go wrong. You'll basically have every bolt on there rusted to hell. I have a 96 and had a hell of a time changing my suspension. You will have to replace tons of parts. You don't know if the car was taken care of or not. I would not risk buying a car with that many miles. You're looking at tons of maintnence.

150,000 miles on a car like that is way too many. That is asking for porblems. Obviously the car has been driven hard, theres a reason they put a V8 in it.

Yes, you would have $3k left over but don't forget its going to take more gas and more expensive car insurance.

gee. I really dunno what to say. I can sell it. and save the money. till i have enough to buy a z28 with less than 80k. anyway, I'm paying $650 for my insurance (6 months) and for a z28 I was qouted at $730. anyway, Ill see what works out the best. I need a z28. but find 1 that I can afford Is not gonna be easy.

thank you

never buy a car w/ 150,000 on it unless you get a great deal on it
