hello everyone..i just recently bought and just got my SS hood in the mail..its for a 94 Camaro 3.4.....if i put an air box from an SS should it work? and where can i get an air box cheap? please..anyone that knows....help me out..thanks.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think the 3.4L and Lt1 air intakes are located in the same place. The 3.8L is located slightly in a different spot. I think it should work. Just call Sun coast Creations, I’m sue they can tell you if it will work or not. Hope I helped.

 

The LT1 and 3.4L air intakes are in the same spot...
My CAI's for my LT1's and 3.4 are exactly the same, one will work on the other, etc.
But I think the problem here may be that the clearance is different. I don't know that that is the the case, but that is the only difference or reason why it wouldn't work that I can think of. If you have the money, and really wanted it, I would order it, try it, and if it didn't work, send it back. They may just be saying that because they don't expect V6's to have SS hoods Dunno though. Technically it should work, just don't modify it any if you are planning on sending it back.

 

Youd be better off just putting a regular CAI on the car and having the hood for appearance. It'll most likely give you the same gains, cost you less and you wont have to play the big guessing game.

 

actually..i already have the moroso CAI..but i can take that off..and make the hood functional..and sell my CAI...and..the intakes are the same...since the moroso fits on both LT1's and V6's......and about clearence..the hood does have a lil box area where the air box goes into...i think i will just buy it..and install it..and figure out a way..and i think the ss hood is better than the CAI in my mind..since the air is blowing right into the hole..and the CAI it has to suck the air from the bottom of the car..and there is a lil shield..which i didnt take off...any more help? those who have helped...thanks a bunch guys :P
