the local punk/chump drives a 86-88 iroc z (one of thoes years) I know he has the 5.0 305 anyways hes always harpin on the v6
(even though i dont drive it like its a Z!)
i would love nothing more than to blow past him at a red light
do they really only have 180hp? do i have a shot? ...

 

i raced one, a red iroc and took him from 40 mph roll. well actually i gunned to see if he would want to play, and sure enough after i slowed down i see him heading towards me pretty fast so he gets to my my front fender then i hit and put a couple of car lengths between us. so i would say you have chance. my only mods are CAI, Lid and Borla.

 

My friend has a '92 with the 305 and five speed. I've driven it and a 4th gen V6 Camaro w/ the 5 speed as well and unless you can't drive you'll be able to take him.

 

305 tpi from 88 has 220ish hp i believe give or take 5 or 10. Much props if you win.

I've raced a 88 iroc z 305 conv, and only lost by a car from a 0-80.... But i can eat up 305 TBI's

 

forgot to mention that my car is an A4 stock
he is automatic w/ the only mod being his flowmaster muffler (
which he loves to rev on every single time he goes anywhere)

Yea 180 seems correct, but they do have alot more torque, but he prob has some ****ty highway gears in it......

 

I just got the real #'s from thirdgen.org and the hp for an '88 305 TPI auto is 195@4000 and tq is 295. Should be a damn good race!
