make a v6 sound like a v8??

ive heard that there is one way to make a v6 sound like a v8. dual it out from the headers back. meaning two mufflers, and such. is this true, and if its not what the closest way you can make it sound like one

I dont think true duals will make you sound like a V8. Its just a costly way to do your exhaust and end up with no more power than you would from a normal catback.

There really isnt a way to make your car sound like a V8. You can get close, but its never going to sound identical. Most catbacks may sound like a V8 when the revs are low, but once they pick up itll become pretty obvious its not a V8. Flowmaster ougth to get you close to the sound youre looking for I'd think.

I was supposed to use elmers glue! This is the kind of stuff I need to be told before I go gluing on extra cylinders.

Ya, if you want to sound like an 8, gotta get an 8. I kinda made that mistake my first time also.

Wood glue might work too. But don't forget to put some V8 Juice mixed in with the oil.

The musclecar sound is what got me into cars in the first place. I'm going to see how the B&B work, I know it won't sound like a V8...

wait-
Wouldn't a new cam help some??

All I gotta say is that the installers did a **** poor job if you hated it that much. I just got a magnaflow installed. 3" straight pipe from cat to muffler, then 2 1/2" to the tips. People think its a V8 and I can't tell you how many people stare at it now. All the little fart can owners at my school stare. It only cost me $400 anyways, they didn't charge me any labor.

If its done right, its sounds badass, to quote a friend, "It sounds like a roaring lion man!"

makes a HUGE difference that you got the i pipe also. without it it would have sounded weak. that is why i always preach about getting a stock i pipe from a Z. could have saved you a lot of deniro

I have a magnaflow catback exhaust and my friend with a 5.0 mustang said that my exhaust sounds like a roaring lion so i think it sounds pretty close to an 8 but thats just my opinion

step 1. remove V6

step 2. replace with healthy V8

step 3. add full exhaust

step 4. wonder why your V6 car suddenly sounds so good and actually accelerates
