maf and O2 sensors. issues

I have a 1996 3.8L in my sandrail.

When I start it it idles really high- (no intake leaks)

After it warms up it is supposed to transition to using the MAF and O2 Sensors, but it never does.

I can turn the car off afer 10 min +- and when it starts it will go right into closed loop. and the idle is normal....

but... there is no throttle response or RPM gain when you open the throttle... this made me hook up the test light and I found no power to the MAF and for giggles I checked the O2 sensors and there is no power there either.

Is this possibly a computer issue or can I simply hook up a 12v supply to power the sensors (although I think they run off the 5.5 volts)

ANY IDEAS ?

I would check the easy stuff first, bad grounds can reek havoc on a motor and lead to frustrating problems to troubleshoot. I would make sure you have good, clean grounds everywhere and take it from there.

The grounds are well placed and clean hook ups, I am thinking that I have a 12v wire disconnected at some point - I have a rats nest of unused wires since this is a transplant.

I think the first thing I am going to do other than trace the wiring back from each sensor is to set up the data port and connect the scan tool...

any other thoughts ideas etc are welcome

Oh boy, if you are doing a transplant and don't have everything hooked up, that is a whole different ballgame. Your best bet is to get a wiring schematic and trace out your circuits.
