mid 12's in a NA 6? damn.....

to bad you live so far away i'd love to see your bird

ok back on subject....
the 6's are great cars my mom owns one(while she dosn't like it bacause it's to small for her)i think it's a really nice car. it's great on gas and is pretty quick. it would be a great car for someone that isn't looking for a V8.

Noticed your sig, nice numbers for a NA six. What kind of work do you have done to it. Judging by sixty foot times, it looks like you have your suspension and tires picked out nicely, how about the motor?

To the original poster... I drive an LS1 and have came from owning two V6's and don't get me wrong I love my LS1 but it's FAR from brag worthy... Thats just like Ferrari / Porsche owners coming here asking us "Why do you drive Camaro Z28's, SS's, TransAm's.... you only look like Red Necks with mullets and your car will never be fast..." I have respect for not only V6 owners but anyone who takes pride in their vehicles, even imports as long as they don't pull up to me and start talking smack...

And becareful, there are PLENTY of V6's out there capable of blowing your doors off so hard it'll put another day in the year... namely ..."Rape Day"... Don't believe me? Go to CamaroV6.com and speak with Viper01af...

...The LS1 is a great car however V6's DO have plenty of potential... ...and the people who post here are the ones who believe and succeed at exploiting that potential... Infact V6 owners have more of my respect because they are able to make the best of what they have because they start off with less than we have... They have my respect...

Both my V6 and Z28 are the same age and both have about 200,000 miles on them.
I miss the way my V6 could tear through the turns. And it only has 14'' tires.
My Z28 has 16x8 alloys and it dosen't take the turns like the the V6. The Z28's steering box is starting to go bad (I have replaced every thing but that), the extra 250lb plus difference up front is taking its toll on the front end after all the years. New springs, struts and a steering box should help.
The Z28 goes through turns like its on rails its nice. But the V6 feels like one of those go-carts with super sticky tires that sits 3/4 inch off the ground.

Some people just like the underdog. Sometimes it's just personal preference. For instance, I could have bought an LS1 and be just as cool as you are, but I wanted the challenge of maintaining and eventually modding my LT1. I wanted the underdog, and some people may never understand that.

Lots of times I'll just cruise around in my car enjoying the ride. I'm not romping on the pedal and it's not about what's under the hood, but just being able to drive the car I love.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my first car was a 91 Firebird with the little 3.1 V6 and automatic trans. It was my first car, and I bought it with my own money working a pathetic minimum wage job while in high school. It couldn't have been more than 140hp rated, but I still pegged the speedo in it over 120 mph the day before I traded it in. I traded it in on a 95 Chevy Blazer so I could drive to college in winter. I always regretted getting rid of it, and the Blazer gave me nothing but problems.

i can't knock v-6's due to my having three in a row and beat the **** out of them at the track (all 2.8'stock)best time was 18.2/not good but fun neutral drops and brake stands were great--third one i took v-8 motor and tranny out of 87' blazer(305)put in lunati cam alum intake and edelbrock 600 carb-found out that was too big for 305-but i ran 15.2@92mph with it bogging off the line then got 89' rs 305 now i have 85' iroc tpi w/305(never paid more than $600. for any of them now that i have an 8 i will never go back to a 6 except for my 2004 impala 3.8

I wish a lot of you guys would have come out of the woodwork for the people in the lounge that say owning a v6 Camaro is pointless. I've been laughed at many times for loving my v6 camaro from people who clearly are into cars for the wrong reasons or don't even like f-bodies nearly as much as I do. It's good to see some solidarity from v6 people.

It shouldn't matter what you drive. The point of joining this forum is to connect with a community of like-minded people, who are willing to help one another, and show love to the F-body family. Last I checked, this site also has forums for the GTO's. Those of us who drive V6's belong here just as much as anyone else. Can't we all just get along?!

also forgot to mention i had v-6's for ten years and had alot of good stories to tell about all the stupid things i did and how most people didn't believe the things i did until they saw for themselves just because i will never own another one doesn't mean i didn't had tons of fun with my 6's//i do sometimes find myself laughing at v-6's that think their all that then remember when that was me
