Oh no, its another guy with a V8 here to put all the V6 owners in their places. Quick everyone, put your e-***** away because his is obviously much bigger.

Look here, "homie", pick up a dictionary or maybe even attend a community college composition class and then come back here to prove whatever point it is you have to make. Honestly, I think most 5th graders could have written a better (grammatically correct) insult than you just attempted.

I love how some V8 guys act as if it is so hard to own/drive a Z28/SS. What are used V8 f-bodies going for these days? I just spent two minutes searching and found over 6 local SS cars available, all under $20k. For less than a new Honda Accord, I can be just as cool as you and own my very own SS. Then I can come on here and ridicule the lowly V6 owners too! YEAH!!!

On a serious note, don't be an ***. You don't know any of these guys situations to make any judgment on them. They may still be in HS, like you were when you had a V6, in college or just struggling to make it. I'd imagine most could afford to get a Z28/SS, they just have different priorities.

But anyways...blah, I'm done with this e-**** contest.

if V6's are so slow and have no power, why is it that just about every month GMHP magazine has several pages on V6 cars. hince the grand national. your Ls1 aint got chit on some of the V6 cars out there. so when you grow up maybe you can have something with some real power.

what about a daily driver

"machine doesn't make the man.. man makes the machine"

I've drove all sorts of cars over the years and for commuting nowdays the 3.8 is, in my opionion, the best logical choice (heres that f*#&ing logic again)... got enogh power to get you out of a tight spot on the highway but still getting nearly 35 mpg which these days means something and especially for me since I drive alot for work (like 400 miles a week)... wish gas was still 25 cents a gallon but it isn't so as much as I would have liked to buy the Z28 I chose the 3.8 instead for gas milage......

yea i think that the 96+ 3800s had something like 200 horsies stock... for a 6 that isnt too bad... plus i know there are a few that could outrun my Z

A little harder to make the power... yes
less overall potential... yes

but think of the bragging rights if you did do it (even though it would be big $$)

i had an ex gf with a 96 3800, they werent too big of slouches (and she did look damn sexy in that car too). i had to beat the hell out of my little non-turbo 96 eclipse to be faster than her (probably the driving habits that made me spin a bearing at 96K but i learned my lesson... i swapped the engine, sold it, and bought the maro which i dont have to push as hard to get the performance i want)

i guess all in all what im saying with the previous statements is that a f-body is an f-body... if your in here you should love them all. its like someone buying a 06 base vette and not respecting it because it not a ZO6

Troll much? Typical jackass attitude that several new members bring in here. You have to start somewhere ya know. At least the people that own a v-6 first usually don't total their first Z-28.

yeah...thats exactly how i learned to drive with a sports car. my first camaro was in h.s. and it was a 1992 305. even slower than the 6 cylinder camaro's. i got my *** handed to me by my g/f's v6 camaro. i have yet to wreck my z28 now. i agree some other people on here. i would almost rather have a v6 for the gas mileage and the bragging rights of the ones that beat the z28's.

You're a new member and this is your first post? And while were on the topic of six cylinders and eight cylinders, there are some v6 forced induction cars out there that I would be afraid to touch with a modified v8.

A friend of mine has a heads/cam 97 3.8L. I think its awesome! I personally wouldnt settle for a V6 when I bought my 4th gen and the same goes for my 3rd gen I'm picking up next summer, but I think there should be more V6 enthusiasts. My friend is the only person I've ever known or met with a modded 6, and I think that's a shame.

I got my 99 solely for the fuel efficiency, I commute 100 kilometers a day and I need all the gas mileage I can get. I used to own a 1986 2.8 and loved it. Besides, I bought it because I love the car, not the engine!!!!

it's got a 5 spd
t-tops
a/c
it turns heads (even for a 6)

What else could you ask for?
