just a question...

I want to put a diff speedo. in my car, it has the factory v-6 one and i was wondering if it is just plug and play. if i got an aftermarket one that said around 150 even though mine is nowhwere around that. just wondering if i can do it.

logic....sorry i was just asking...thought that this was what this room was for, besides i did it on my 96 t-bird and works fine i was just wonderin..since it worked on it...

I mean if the middle of the stock speedo says 65 and the new speedo, since it is high speed, shows 80 where the 65 was...it isn't accurate.

It'll fit...just won't read right.

i didnt mean to sound rude i just thought it would fix it being that it is electric and all, the t bird showed 65 and now its 80 and it was just attomaticlly updated...i dunno thanks

I thought you could just go to the dealership and have them recalibrated. Just a thought.

I got a cool reverse indiglo one off eBay for $30...same speedo.

Fairly easy, takes some time though. You have to take out the cluster, write on a piece of paper where all the needles are pointed, take off the needles, peel off the overlay, put on the new overlay, put the needles back on the way they were pointing, put gauge cluster back in dash.

The hardest part for me was getting the speedo to be exact. I left the plastic cover off of the gauge cluster for a week or so to make adjustments to the speedo. Luckily I live in a very populated area that likes to setup those things on the street that tell you how fast you are going.
