I hate v6's...............serious

Nothing against v6's but I have a 96 LT1 and I've put 3 new engines in that thing and this 95 3.4L I'm just trying to take the pass head off and it's harder than all of that shlt I've ever done to my LT1. Thanks GM........... you have to be strong as hell to get the exhaust manifold bolts off...... I know, this thread is pointless.

I had the same problem trying to install the headers myself. I had to take it to a shop, never even got the manifolds off

bad thing is a breaker bar wont fit to the back bolts, not even a torque wrench and the the ones you have to get from under the car...........it's almost not worth it. It has bad valves and runs like shlt so I'm gonna have to do it one way or another.

Re: I hate v6's...............serious

that sucks...

I vowed to myself to never pull the exhaust manifolds off of my 3.4L when I had it. I remember it being a bitch on my 2.8Land that car had more room.

to get the manifold bolts off easily, they are supposed to be heated with a torch and taken out with an air gun. ive done it on mine, they come off like butter.

Re: I hate v6's...............serious

you mean an air impact wrench, a gun wont fit in such a tight spot.
my air impact wrench isnt strong enough.
gun > stronger > wrench
I had to use PB Blaster on mine, otherwise it would be impossible
