Hypertech problems issues

get this, I brought a used hypertech for my 2000 3.8. The first time i programmed the car it worked great, I could even feel the power boost, no probelms, a few days later my check engine lite came on so I'm thinking oh **** & I imediatly program the car back to factory, turns out the engine lite was a un-related issue so a few days later I try to install the hypertech program back on the car but the unit fails to turn on serveral times, I finally get it to work and it got worse and worse and now when I try it I can get absolutey no response from the unit. I called them up for help and they say if you have your electrical system modifed it could be an issue,

I have remote start on my car so I thought it could be an issue, has anyone else had any similar issues with these things?

Does anyone make a chip for our 2000 v6 cars that will give a power boost that is easy to remove unlike this program?

thanks

Only thing I can think of is maybe the CIG/ACCY fuse is blown, that powers the DLC port. Something easy to check. If it worked before don't think your remote start is the problem. I used one once on my car years ago, always make sure the battery is good, no accessories are on, don't open a door while programming, etc. At least it sounds like the stock tune is in the car if it turns out to be the HPP3.

Did you check the 9v battery in the HPP?

Didn't think HPP3's had an internal battery.

mine was a POS, hypertech is trash.
worked great 2 times, but now it says cannot initialize / hardware failure.
Luckily I got it back to stock, and when i went to re-use it, it failed.
I tried 40-50 different times, on different days, nothing.

The information below may be a help. I have tried to find out if anyone has used one or is familiar with it. So far I haven't gotten an answer but maybe the info will help you. I want to put a 4:56 gear in mine so I need to do the same thing you are wanting to do.

The JET SCU (Speed Control Unit) 2000 interacts with the vehicle's speed sensor on late model GM cars and trucks. It allows adjustments in the transmission shift points and speedometer calibration for vehicles where tire size or gear changes are required. It also eliminates the top speed limiter in these applications. The SCU 2000 simply plugs into the transmission and is adjusted with the turn of a switch! All JET products are made in the USA and are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty!
• Easy Installation!
• Eliminates Speed Limiter!
• Adjustable for your specific application!
• Does Not Void Factory Warranty!
• Limited Lifetime Warranty!
The JET SCU 2000 (Speed Control Unit) is intended ONLY for 1996-1999 Automatic transmissions.
