How to remove crankshaft from 3800 series 2 v6 in 98-02 camaro ?
Hello everyone ! I have a 99 camaro base model with the 3800 series 2 v6. The engine has a lower end tapping noise after the engine warms up. I suspect it's a bearing going bad. I have not been driving the car since I noticed the noise.
My plan is to replace the crankshaft and bearings. I'm not very familiar with these cars. I have a couple questions for those of you that are familiar with these cars and the 3800 series 2 engine.
1) Is it possible to remove the crankshaft without removing the whole engine from the car ?
2) Is it possible to remove the rods and pistons from the bottom end without removing the heads ?
Your help and information will be most appreciated !
