help me out here...

how hard would it be to stick in a 94 lt1 engine into my 98a4 camaro?? i kow your asking why not a ls1 but my buddy has a wrecked 94 trans am, and is willing to sell me the engine (62,000) all the accessories and tranny for 1500. it was wrecked in the back. how hard would it be to change it from a a4 to a t56?? if its to much trouble ill stick with the 4l60e. are there any problems that i might run into or is it basically the same thing as swapping in a ls1 and tranny??? thanx guys...

If you do the LS1 swap, the wiring should match up. (if you get the LS1 harness from the same year) With the LT1, you'll have to do some research on the wiring, then some cutting and splicing...

Not too sure if his t56 pcm will support your a4. So your probably looking at bringing the t56 over with it. Or getting an a4 pcm for the LT1.

your A4 will not bolt up to a v8. you will have to bring the tranny over with it. its a bit of a PITA, but you can do the auto to stick conversion, make it easier since you have everything out anyway.
the LT1 install will require a little more wiring that if you went with an LS1, but is still do-able.

site for conversion

I just rebuilt an interior fire 94 camaro manual transmission, and I used the interior wiring harness from an automatic car. I was truly amazed at the differences in the interior wiring harness. It would be a true pain to make those changes and convert an auto to a manual. especially when you throw the ASR function in, cruise control and some others. If I were you, I'd find the auto tranny for the lt1. If you don't, plan on ripping out the dash and making the changes. If you want more info on the changes PM or email me.
