help!! car shakes bad when braking!! w/in

Hey guys,

OK...bought my car with 47k miles...and the guy put new rotors and pads on the front. My car has 75k miles on now and definately needs new brakes. What is causing the car to shake really bad when i brake. I realize i might need an alignment and rotation also. Rotors are really expensive..would that many miles put on the car require new rotors or just pads?? What about the rear drums...i was told not to attempt to fix those myself... I guess my question is How much do front pads and rear drums usually cost from a local shop? AND what do I do with the rotors...get new ones or or someone told me you can have them turned down??? I wanna sell my car in the spring and don't wanna put that much money into it now...but I dont' wanna die in the winter either. Any help would be great...thanks guys!!

my friend just had his brakes front and back done and it was close to 3 bills.
and your friend was saying to get your rotors "turned" cost $20-$40 bucks depending where ya go. that is done to take the scratches off of them (so to speak) smooth them out for better contact with the brake pads.
in general brake jobs are easy but expensive to have done at a shop.
the shaking couls be caused by your worn rotors or it could be even caused by the need of an allignment.
good luck.
and if you have a bake check in your area- i say stay away- they are rip offs!

I'll say Balance,as in not enough braking in rear. Your pads prob. need to be changed rotors are prob. ready for a turn. But you havent done the rears? with worn pads/sloppy rotors in the front and completely worn rear brakes in the rear. The front is taking all of the braking burden, and would act like that.
Really bad Tie-Rod ends,is possible.I think its the lack of rear braking, worn fronts. No balance
