Grand Prix GTP

I think you 3.8 guys might be able to help me out here. I just bought a new GTP as a get around car. So far i've got a pully and cold air but i'm wondering if they make a cat back for these cars that flows better but sounds as quiet or near as quiet as stock.

ya might try a GTP board... the exhaust sysrem on a GTP is compleetly different than the exhaust system on an F-body

Same engine though, it should sound roughly the same. Are there any mufflers for f-bodys that would serve this purpose?

I haven't seen a aftermarket exhaust that is quieter then stock. The dynomax on my brothers 3.8l Camaro sounds pretty good. Dynomax has bigger hp gains then flowmasters. Dynomax and Flowmasters are fairly quiet and inexpensive. You might want to check into a grandprix board like someone before mentioned, the exhaust setup is completely different. GTPs (the 99s at least) have a single cat and two mufflers, you should look into getting two cats and a one inlet two outlet muffler. Or if your not worried about being street legal you can get two cats and two mufflers (true duals).

The theory behind the exhaust on the SS is by putting the cats close to the exhaust manifolds they heat up more and makes them function better some how improving flow.
