What is the best way to empty my gas tank? I cant seem to get a hose in the filler to siphon it out so now what?

Re: Gas Tank Question

most newer tank /filler necks have made just about impossible to siphon it out. My best suggestion would be to disconnect the fuel line at the filter and turn on the pump. Might not get it all out but probably more than a siphon would do.

Re: Gas Tank Question

do to check ***** it's hard to stick a hose in the filler necks. you can jump the prime connector with the feed line unpluged at the filter but it puts a lot of strain on the pump. Why do you need to empty the tank?

Re: Gas Tank Question

Drop the tank. Your gas is no longer a liquid. It's now a thick green sludge. Get a new pump, sending unit, filter and have the tank steam cleaned. The injector might be damadged as well.
