Fuel pump no power 97 camaro 3.8L
I need some help here, I've done a lot of reading on the forums about fuel pumps and changing them out. So, my fuel pump went bad (I thought). I changed it out using the trap door method and the new fuel pump would not work. I jumped the new fuel pump to the battery using the fuel pump prime connector and the fuel pump did prime after this. So after this I tested the wire at the relay , I' think I'm supposed to get a hot reading from the orange wire which is from the battery, and a hot reading from the green wire which is PCM with the key turned. I'm not getting a hot reading from either of these. What could be the problem? I changed out all the fuses and still nothing? anyone have this problem and if so how did you fix it?
edit* I also changed the relay to a new relay to make sure it wasn't the relay that was not working. The new relay had no effect.

I not a mechanic or really have much knowledge on cars, so all I can do is state the obvisous, is there a broken wire or loose connection? I would get a voltmeter and check the green/ orange wires it under the hood, or I guess you could just check them at the fuse box. then you'll know where the problem is, either in the wiring or in the PCM.
If you were able to change a fuel pump I'm sure you know more than I do already, I know I'm not much help.

I've had kind of a similar problem on my LT1 camaro. Except My fuel pump relay was working and I had power on the grey wire that went straight to the fuel pump, but no power from the grey wire AT the fuel pump, seems like the wire burned up or broke on mine...don't know how...but thats my luck. Sounds like something similar might have happened to you. If your fuel pump relay is energizing, check the resistance across the connection side (the side that goes to the fuel pump) if the resistance is higher than about an ohm or so, you do indeed have a bad relay. If thats all working, you might have the same problem I do.
