no it will fit fine, you just need the wiring and new cluster, also most v6's didnt come with a posi rear end so you should swap that too. i also think that the suspention has too be switched over cause of the weaker springs on the v6's

i think its the same tranny in all 94-02 cars right? (93's were 4l60 though)
if your talking auto's................

You'll need your drivetrain, engine cradle for an LT1,( you didnt state where it was hit or how bad) your wiring/computer, and a 97 Instrument cluster if you dont want to change the entire dash. It can be done, most people will probably tell you to swap to an LS1, but I say DO IT! If you have the know how, ability, and obviously the parts, you can make it happen. Its not THAT complicated. You may need to do some more searching on the wiring. You might have to change the entire car harness, Im not sure how it'll interface with the older harness etc with the body control module and lighting. Just do some searching.

How about fuel lines and rear end? I have a similar situation, I have a 96 Z28 and found a 98 v6 camaro.
