My 2001 base model, stock V6 engine started acting up... specifically it feels like it's misfiring. A jerking motion appears to happen when accelerating, but does not happen all the time. It happened once one day early last week and the frequency has increased. There are no check engine lights, etc, on.
Someone told me that the fuel injection needs to be cleaned. This car is only at 37K miles. I use 89 grade Amoco gas, which I figured to be sufficient.

My questions are:
Should the fuel injection need to be cleaned this early?
Other ideas for this problem?
