Direct fit vs. Universal Cats

I was wondering what the difference between a Direct Fit and a Universal Cat are. Cuz I put a high-flow cat on my 2k1 Camaro and it keeps settin off my 02 Sensors, i replaced the sensors but the SES light comes on. I even put a 02 simulator in Bank 2 (after cat) but the light still comes on. So i'm guessin put a regular cat back on the car will make the light go away. Anyways sorry to get off topic but my main question is what's the difference between Direct-Fit and Universal? Does it really make a difference?

There shouldn't be much if any difference.
Try reseting the computer, that might make the light go away for a while.

universal or direct does'nt really matter. Also if you put an o2 sim it should be fine. should check if its connected fine contacts good and if the sim actually is working or another sensor is not good.

are you sure that the SES is being caused by the O2 sensor and not something else... the sim should take care of the SES if the cat isnt working properly

Positive that error code always keeps popping up when the SES get's checked even with a SIM

if you are 100% sure that the SES is beging caused by THAT O2 sensor, then you either have a bad PCM which I highly doubt, or the wire has a break in it somewhere between the sensor and the PCM

Re: Direct fit vs. Universal Cats

No what is most likely is that the O2 sim you have isn't doing its job. Later models are picky and there is pretty much only one sim that can work.

Casper's Electronics PN 104046

Some people have been ok with other O2 sims, some have not. At any rate if that is the sim that you do have, it may be defective.

Lastly, you didn't tell us what code you are getting. You should consider going to Autozone or the like and get the code read for free. Then you will have a better idea of what is going on.
