Different fans/radiators?

Anybody here running non-stock fans on the V6s (specifically 3.4Ls)? I'm having problems with air flow and have done everything else I know to do to take care of this heating problem, so Im looking into changing the fan setup. Fan is already wired to come on with the key, which will be wired correctly with relays and switches whenever I figure out a better solution to the overall problem.

I did have one question on the stock fan, have searched and gotten different answers so I'll ask here. Is the stock, single fan on the 3.4 a single speed or dual speed fan? If its a dual speed, Where do I need to tap into to get it on high speed? I havnt messed with any of the wiring yet, it was already wired hot when I got the car, I just mainly have problems when running the a/c. Here lately its been getting a little too warm without running the a/c in town. Highway seems to be fine.

Has anybody experimented with different fans or cutting the fan shroud and adding a second fan on the drivers side? I do have a fan from an 86 or so Camaro thats sitting on the shelf in my garage I was thinking about putting in somehow, but didnt want to ruin the shroud if it would make problems worse. I know how picky these cars are about ALL of their air guides/shrouds. I also thought about trying to mount the 86 Maro fan to the front of the condenser, but have a few questions on that as well.

I know the blades would be going the wrong way no matter how I look at it, but can the fan be wired backwards without damaging the motor? It should help move some air even with the blades the wrong way for a pusher right? If I can get away with this, would it be better to put it directly in front of the original fan or off to the drivers side over the empty space where it would sit more in front of where the factory shroud blocks the direct flow?

Would I be better off just trying to find a set of dual fans from a Z or 3.8 car? How important is a fan shroud on the engine side of the radiator if Im running dual fans, can I just get another fan like the 86 Maro style and mount them side by side without a shroud to "guide" the air on the back side of the radiator?

Are there any other OEM radiators that you any of you have had luck swapping in, that are thicker than our stockers? I'm trying to keep things simple and cheap because of our expected baby, Lots of things goin on and need to get this thing in good shape so we can go to Dr. appointments and such. Caprice is currently dead and awaiting a rebuilt 350 so it is on hold until our son is here and things calm down a little.

Edit-- Have also read a lot of places that mid 90s f*rd taurus fans are a popular swap for a lot of vehicles, anybody have experience with one of these "4000 CFM" fans? Any insight on these would be awesome, Im pretty sure I could pick one of those up fairly cheap and quickly today.
