Did 3.4 to LT1 no start.

Maybe you all can help me. I have a 95 3.4L and I did a swap to a 94 LT1. Everything went fine and I believe that I hooked up all the approprate connectors but the car won't start. It turn over again and again but doesn't fire. There is no spark. I did all the Chilton's tests and it doesn't look like the coil is getting power. Can anyone help?

Did you bypass the VATS?

Did you change the dash harness or how did you mate the connectors under the passenger side kick panel ? There's a power feed from the ignition to the PCM in there! I found out the hard way also. The PCM is DEAD until it gets 12V. Does the fuel pump run when you turn the key ? If it doesn't, that's probably why.

I kept the dash harness the same. The LT1 engine harness plugged right into the dash harness. No I don't hear the fuel pump.

I'd have to go look at mine again, but I think if you take a closer look at those connectors you'll see a couple wires missing. I believe it's the Blue connector. I can check if this seems to be your problem.

This is probably my problem, i haven't had a chance to look. The connectors just fit together so I didn't even check the wires.

So to make sure I understand you correctly. This problem stems from putting a 94 LT1 in to a 95 car. If it would have been 95-95 all would have worked correctly? Also, what did you do to fix this problem, and what other problems did you encounter?

Thanks,
faccnator

I don't think it matters that it was a '94 LT1, but this is exactly what I did, so may be...anyway, did you look at shoeboxs' diagrahms i linked to above ? you'll be able to see if that pink wire is missing. It should be in cavity "G" It supplys voltage to the PCM from Fuse#11. Without it the PCM is dead. My 95 v6 car didn't have this FUSE#11 feed going thru this connector, so I ran a dedicated wire (with inline fuse) from the junction box on the passenger side fender. (It sits on the fenderwell right behind the battery, has a red cover on it) I ran this wire in thru the firewall where the wires come thru for the PCM, and into that BLUE connector "cavity G". Sorry I don't have anymore time right now, I can explain more later if this doesn't do it for ya

Re: Did 3.4 to LT1 no start.

95,

Thanks for all the help. Your direction fixed my problem. Just for the record though it is the four pin harness under the passenger side kick pannel. The problem is that the V6 dash harness does not have a connection for the computer which is the orange wire on the LT1 engine harness. Thanks for all the help.
