TPS voltage

I set the voltage on my TPS to 0.552 and WOT is 4.28, does this sound right to yall? Any advantages to higher voltage setting or lower for that matter. Thanks

Re: TPS voltage

TPS reading should be 0v with the throttle closed and 5v at WOT. You're pretty close and I believe anything over 4.5v is considered WOT in the computer. Sounds like your right about where you should be but you might check the TB to see if there is any sticking going that would keep it from going to 0v at idle (TB all the way closed). You don't really want to mess with this as far as raising or lowering the voltage. That would make the computer think your throttle was open more / less than it actually is. TPS is used in determining fuel mixture.

Re: TPS voltage

I was wondering cause the Haynes book says to set it to 0.55 volts plus or minus 0.06 volts and doesnt give a measurement for WOT. I just rebuilt the engine and the injection system so i know that it is not sticking. Might actually get to fire it up this week if the weather holds out. Thanks

Re: TPS voltage

TPS voltage should never be zero. you will probably never reach WOT/PE mode that way. 9 times out of 10 when you read voltage you will see 0.68 volts. Thats right where GM sets them from factory most times. anywhere from .20-.80 will technicly work but most feel that 0.70-0.75 is best from a performance standpoint. YOu can read more detailed info in this article that I wrote. http://mainstreamtopics.com/forums/i...showtopic=1315
