You need the correct crankshaft/pulley puller to take it off. Are you familiar with a steering wheel puller? If so, the crankshaft one is similar; using an impact gun, take the bolt out of the center of the crankshaft pulley, then thread the puller in and use it to press the pulley out of place.

Dude, calm down. It's not nearly as hard as it sounds. Remove the original bolt in the pulley, thread in the puller, and pull the pulley off. Even with no experience, you can do it in 5 minutes tops.

Like someone else said, go to Autozone or another local parts store; lots of times, they will have these tools available for rental. Once you have the puller in your hand, it's going to be obvious how it works.

Why in the world do you have three threads on this subject.. you could have asked this in the same thread where I told you to go get the tool?

The "friendly" people at autozone will tell you which tool you need. Its on a chart on the parts counter. Flip it over if you don't read spanish =P.

in CT you have to pay full price when you get it, than you get it back when you bring it back in.

I wasn't being racist... its always in spanish when I go in to the store.

Ours is like the last guy posted you buy it and then return it within so many days and thats how they "loan it".

If they are trying to charge you interest thats crap - try a different parts store like O'reillys.

defintley worth waiting!

I got fustrated once and tried to pull one of those whells off ( think power steering) with an engine bearing puller I had sitting around.... Well I ended up paying nearlly $100 to replace the think as I bent the hell out of it.
Good think is that even with the deposit when all is said and done you spend $0 to use the tool.

its very simple.....buy a repair manual, it will explain it.

You will need an installer to press it back on too, don't knock it on with a hammer or try to pull it on with the bolt.

take a chill pill too.

When you rent the autozone tools here you have to pay for the tool...100% then get a refund when you return it, so the autozone "friends" may want to do you.....but not jip you
