Thumbs down Coolant Sensor is too Low?

The service Engine Light came on in my car the other day, it is a 1992 camaro with a 3.1L V6, I scanned it and it said the coolant sensor is too low. Before this happened the car would not idle at any less than 1500rpm. I tried cleaning out the IAC motor, and now the engine will idle at 1000 rpm, but the check engine light is still on. Has anybody experienced a similar problem, and if so what was it?

I checked the coolant, and it is full, so it must be the sensor! Any more suggestions?

The coolant temperature sensor went bad, I replaced it, and it runs like a charm again!
