Can I install a Cut-Out if I already have an exhaust?

Wussup everyone, I'm sorry for my noobiness but I've recently been trying to learn more about our cars (V6).

But I am curious about a cut-out. My question is, can I install a cut-out even if I have a magna muffler, headers and high flow cat? If so, how would it sound? Would it be waaaaaay to loud to the point where cops will pull me over? Or sound pretty damn mean to the point where people hear it and say "dayam that sounds mean"?

I was thinking of putting Wussup everyone, I'm sorry for my noobiness but I've recently been trying to learn more about our cars (V6).

The sound that the magna gives my car sounds pretty good, actually better sound then a couple V6's I've heard in my area. My headers are coming in soon same with my high flow cat. Most say it will give my car a deeper sound. But will a cut-out make it sound even meaner?

I was thinking about putting a jet stage 2 chip because I just purchased a 160 thermo stat. But I think buying an electric cut-out would be better and I'll just get the chip later in the future.

Please respond back, I really need help in deciding what I should do. Thanks everyone.

Ya, you can install a cutout in your exhaust, just need to find a shop that will do it.

Ever seen Memento? Dude had short term memory loss and forgot stuff right away, maybe he has this problem and forgot what he typed previously.

Yo Zepher, how much do you think an autos shop will charge me? Also, if later in the future I want to sell my parts. Will the exhaust be damage to where I cant sell it?

Also, labor should cost more for an electic cut-out vs regular cut-out right?

They charge anywhere from $25 to $75.
Labor for an electric one will be more if they wire it up as well.

Is it hard to do the wiring myself? Is there a site where I can see detailed instructions on how to do it? Also, you know where I can get a good price of them? Thanks for the help man.

the mccord power plate is pretty cheap. you dont need to go electric. you can take the plate off by hand in about 30 seconds if youre willing to lay down on the ground every once in a while.

Hey Loochy, the reason why I want to get an electric one is because what if like a cop is right behind me or just near me. I can just flip the switch ya know. Also, once I install my headers and high flow cat I'm scared that when I get the cut-out that its gonna be really really loud.

I just dont want the hassle always going under my car.

It really all depends on how it sounds when its open. I do hear that most just leave it open. What do you think?

Hey man I feel you, I recently just been trying to learn about my car so I can do some mods to it. Well correct me if I'm wrong guys but a cut-out is basically a small L shape tube that is installed directly into your exhaust pipe before your muffler. By doing this, it makes your exhaust really loud and may add some horse power (but not a lot). Do a search and type in cut-out in the search nox. That's where I learn about cut-outs.

You dont have to go electric if your worried about that...You can get a cut out where you can pull a cable to open and close it. It's a lot cheaper than going electric but it depends on the size of your pipe, the biggest cut out ive seen like that is 2 inch. And the best way to see what its going to sound like is just unbolt your cat and start up your car
