If the cars shakes on accel like you siad with the plugged cat, maybe that caused the p0300 misfire code and the vacuum booster is fine? I would say leave th ebrake booster and check it again after the cat is fixed.
And P0300 is just the code for a misfire(generic OBDII) p0301 p0302, etc would identifiy a cylinder.

My 1999 did the exact same thing. I took it to the shop and they said it was throwing a p0300 code as well as having a clogged cat. They replaced the cat (as it was still under warranty thank god) and after about 60 or so miles the miss went away and the check engine light went out. I still replaced the spark plugs and wires for good measure though. I recommend getting your catalytic converter straightened out and then changing your plugs and wires.

I'd think it should be fine for a short period of time as the cat is really just to make your exahust more "enviormentally fredinly" ... but it is always best to have everything runing correctley

I just had the same problem with my car...1997 camaro rs, and it was shaking and misfiring really bad....i did a few things that you did (plugs, cat, wires) , and went to autozone to get my coils and ICM checked, and the ICM (ignition control module) was bad...so 150 dollars later, my problem id fixed, and my car runs amazing!!!!
