Post air filter

is it worth getting a k&n filter over leaving the stock intake if you don't have anything else done to the car? does it make the car sound any better or really give it anymore HP?

Thumbs up

-worth it? sure
-sound? no change
-cost effective? $10 standard filter every 3 months, $30 K&N once for to life of your car
-performance? a couple horsepower
overall just a good cheap mod

We both don't know what year of car he has. So we dont know which CAI kit he needs so in a way we are both right. Although the Whisper Lid can be bought with or without the filter why not wait month to get the money and buy the filter then, with the CAI.

Getting back to the topic, I personally don't believe spending the $$$ for the air filter if your goal is to add performance. It won't add any power, if it does, you can't tell. If you want to get it so you dont ever have to buy new filters, then its worth it. But for performance....no.
