It basically acts like I ran out of gas.Everything seems to be in working order except the car will not fire up.Furl pressure was a steady 50 lbs at running idle on a cold engine.As I write this the car ran fine earlier but it may not start tomorrow.Has anybody had a fuel pump act like this??

Is your car a manual or automatic? I can't really tell by your OP if the engine turns over, or not when you are having this issue. I noticed in my formula (6-speed), that if I don't have the clutch pushed in all the way, my car won't crank. It won't turn over, or do anything, but make some noises under the dash. As soon as I push the pedal in all the way, it fires right up.

i had one with the same problem, never figured it out but, try, turning the key on and wait for fuel pump to stop working, then do it 2 more times and see if sne starts
