97 3.8l

One of my good friends just bought a 97 camaro 30th anniversery edition with a 3.8L engine in it. I have a 95Z with a 383 stroker so that is the car I have read on. I have never looked into V6 performance. He has a decent amount of money to spend he planned on the car being more. I was thinking about gutting the cat (it appears to be a single cat with no O2 sensor behind the cat, if I jack the car up and find dual cats with rear O2 sensors I will just get some sims). I also thought a K&N cai (I believe the ones for the V8 and V6 are interchangable as long as its 93-97). I have heard of people putting cams and rockers in where would I look to buy one of these? How does the waterpump drive? Could I put an electric H20 pump on? He has an auto so can you recommend a new torque converter to go with a new cam? What do you recommend for a cat back exhaust? What sounds good? Where can headers for this car? Do they make lt's? I don't have to worry about emmisions. I think that covers about everything, If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

Thanks,
Jason

should have one cat with a both a before and after o2 sensor.
the cai will work, but u have to buy the stock elbow off a lt1 if the kit didn't come with one.
check out www.zzperformance.com for the cam and rockers
you can do an electric water pump
precision industries makes good tc for the v6's, another option is just having the stock one restalled
check out www.texas-speed.com for the rumbler catback, it should gains over a cutout
rksport, clear image automotive, and pacesetter make headers, pacesetter and cia have the least amount of problems on the 3.8s but pacesetter is much cheaper
i definetly recommend better plugs and wires, also if non-y87 then gears and lsd is a great choice most choice 3.42 but some (like myself) get 3.73

check out www.zzperformance.com for cams. they have some great options there.
SLP makes a cold air kit as well. not sure on the cost comparisson between that and k&N. I thought the K&N was for the 93-95 3.4L engines as well as the LT1, didnt think it worked on the 3800.

A member here named Tiago creates a turbocharger for the V6 F-body that greatly increases performance. I'm not sure what his 3.8L turbo can do, but the one he created for the 3.4L put the car over 300RHP.
