95 Firebird Hard Start Smell Gas Goes Dead At Times

I Need Help I Have A 95 Firebird 3800 Series And Its Hard To Start All The Time Cold Hot All The Time Its The Same I Also Smell Gas Every Tyme I Start It No Leaks At All Though Also When I Bought The Car It Had Oil In The Radiator Witch Im Pretty Sure Its The Head Gasket I Put Sum Copper Radiator Sealer In An Havent Had A Problem With That And It Wont Crank At All Unless I Keep Pushin On The Gas While Im Turning It Over An Sum Times It Goes Dead As Soon As I Get It Started But When I Go To Start It Again It Starts Fine But Some Times Ill Be Drivin And It Will Juss Cut Off No Warning Signs At All Juss Cuts Off Ne Help Would Help Thanks For Listn

Your cut-off problem could be due to the ignition switch. Take a look.

Same problem different car

My 97 Formula has the same problem.

I have also found that if I hold the revs constant, say at 2K RPM, the engine will fade to 1500 RPM then surge back to full power.

This happens at a steady interval of about 4 seconds

Check the fuel regulator vaccum fitting on the passenger side rear of the intake manifold. My 00 V6 was hard starting at times and I could smell gas. After some digging around I checked that fitting and the rubber connecting the line to the intake was cracked. I replaced it and that one dried up and cracked as well about 2 months later. I replaced it again with another fitting and it has been fine since. There was no visible gas leak on the ground, but looking at the rear of the motor on the passenger side you could see it was damp like it had been leaking. I'm lucky the thing never caught fire leaking gas down the motor like that.
