455 Engine
Not sure about the 455 but the '79 Trans Am I think had the Pontiac 400 and 403.I think old articles put the 1/4 mile at mid 14 second range.Should be all sorts of info on the net though,just do a search for 455 Camaro........

The 455 was in the T/A, as far as F-bodies.
But Oldsmobile, Buick, and Pontiac all had 455's. Yet none of them are alike....different bores, strokes, etc.
My 75 Olds Delta 88 (pic on the website in the sig), has a 455.
The first 455 came out in 1968, and lasted till 1976...at least for Oldsmobile, but the others should be right around there.
But for the most part they came in the big cars......but also as a Hi-Po option in the midsized cars.
