204/214 or 216/228???
204/214 or 216/228???
I am at a hard decision. I don't know if the extra 150 dollars is worth the 216/228 cam over the 204/214 cam kit? I have ported heads from ATL2001 coming in soon, and I am going to be getting the K-motion 700 valvesprings. I was thinking that the 216/228 cam is the more powerful cam, and would be better suited for my wants. I don't think the 204/214 cam will give the power I want and power throughout the range. I will have ported intake manifolds, ported heads, the cam, and thats it really engine wise, besides full exhaust and intake. I will be getting the SLP LSD that summitracing.com sells for 99 dollars. As well as a 1 piece driveshaft from a wrecked Z28. I was hoping for somewhere in the 15's? Does that sound reasonable? With it stock it ran 16.9, no intake no exhaust no suspension and on a peg leg. I think I was going to wait the extra 2 weeks for my check to get the 216/228 cam and anti-pump lifters. What do you guys think?

I think that a 16.9 stock requires more investigation into possible problems. You should be able to pull mid 16's out of it stock if everything is in good working order. With the mods you mentioned on a stock cam you should be able to get into the mid to high 15's, so with the right cam I would count on low 15's high 14's.
just to let ya know im running a mid 15 with an auto 3.4L with boltons only right now (and not even rocker arms or a stall)
the 216/228 cam would be pretty aggressive (jsut a guess , hard to tell for sure without the LSA or the lift)
and however if you are thinking about spraying your car or putting a blower (not a turbo) that would be a bitchin cam

Well its the H-272 cam from Crane cams http://cranecams.com/index.php?show=...41&lvl=2&prt=5 its 228.00 and the lifters are seperate. I want it to be agressive, and nitrous is a very big possibility!! Only a 35-50 shot on stock pistons. Its a hard decision, because I don't want to wait any longer!
The crane 272 cam is my cam also.
I would get a mechanical cam if you don't want to run boost.
I got my crane cam for $150 and I thought I was getting screwed.
The 204/214 is a lot like the stock cam, don't get it.
