2.8L 84 Camaro misfiring on acceleration
I recently bought an 84 Camaro and if you try to accelerate too fast the engine will misfire. It does not misfire in easy throttle but if you rev the engine or accelrate to quickly the engine will immediately misfire.....the problem occurs worse when the engine is cold.I cant find any wacuum diagrams for a 84 camaro V6. The engine was rebuilt and the cylinders bored out.....But the guy didnt connect everything up and he may have skipped over a few things. Do you happen to know where the EGR valve is located? Also, any other suggestions as to what could be causing the problem?

P.S. I just recently Changed the plugs and made sure to set the gap to factory specs.

Just an Update... Put in new spark plug wires today and plugs yesterday. With no change in the backfireing...but i removed the air filter to the caburater and reproduced the backfire. Flames shot out of the carburater...any idea what could be causing these problems?

Valve Timing being off???
Ignition timing being waaaaayyyyy off
Not sure if it has air injection. If it does, check to see that it has manifold vaccum to the air injection manifold.
or even just a bad carb could do it.
Does it "diesel" when you shut it off when hot???
