2.8 to 3.1 ... 3.4?
2.8 to 3.1 ... 3.4?
Ok... Ive got a 2.8L in my 88 Camaro. Lifters are bad... exhaust manifold bolt was sheered off inside the head when we tried to change the manifold gasket. Also Im having a problem with losing power and having to restart the engine to get it back. Ive been told it might be a wiped lobe on the cam from a bad lifter. So we have to take the motor out to retap the bolt hole in the head anyway eventually.....
Ive got a 3.1L (almost complete other than the harness) and a 3.4L motor (heads, block and internals). Assuming both motors are fine internally and stuff...... could I swap the electronics from the 2.8L to the 3.1 or the 3.4L and have it work fine? I assume since they are all 60* motors it would work right? I dont see a reason why the 3.1 wouldn't work, but I dont know anything about the 3.4L motors.......

Yea it will work. don't bother swaping the eletronics over unless you have a lot of time on your hands, just reuse all the 2.8 stuff, all but the injectors.
I see that You have an 88', that is good, you can reuse your flex plate or fly wheel because your 2.8 is internaly ballanced and so are the 3.1 and 3.4., earlyer 2.8's arn't.
